Welcome
Welcome to Ian Bloomfield Massage Therapy. I am a fully qualified massage therapist, specialising in sport and remedial, deep tissue and Swedish massage for injuries, recovery, maintenance and performance. My passion is helping people live happier and healthier lives and I proudly work with people of all ages and from every background.

I am fully aware of how the pressures of daily life can affect a person’s physical and mental well-being – whether that’s in a sporting or competitive environment or just as a result of the stresses and strains of day-to-day living. As part of my practice and approach – I aim to help, heal and educate my clients by providing a professional, effective and client-centred service with treatments that are tailored, specifically, to their individual needs – after all – no two clients are the same – so why would their treatments be?

I am more than happy to discuss how massage therapy might benefit you. Get in touch and we’ll have a chat about the issues concerning you and how massage therapy might help you.

If you have any questions or would like to make a booking, please send a message via WhatsApp or call me now on 07713 155583. Please leave a message if I don't pick up and I will call you back as soon as I can.
Dedicated to helping you live happier and healthier lives
Treatments at a glance
I am passionate about providing you with the right treatment at the right time. I will use structured protocols to ensure you receive the best, personalised, therapeutic treatment. Here, at a glance, are the different treatment modalities currently available.
Sports or Remedial

Sports and remedial massage utilises specific techniques which are highly effective for correcting muscular issues and problems caused through physical activity.

Having a regular sports or remedial Massage, can help enhance performance, aid recovery and go some way in the prevention of injury.
Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue Massage is similar to Swedish Massage but includes deep strokes and increased pressure to help release the patterns of tension in the body.

This works on the deeper layers of the muscle and fascia to release muscle that feels generally uncomfortable, tight, stiff or tense.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is one of the most common massages for relaxation. It is performed using oil or lotion and essential oils to enhance the massage treatment.

The long strokes, kneading and friction movements can help improve circulation, energise the body and improve overall health.
Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology Taping is a rehabilitative technique which has been developed to supercharge the body’s natural healing process whist providing support and stability to muscles and joints. It can be used to decrease pain, reduce inflammation, and relax overused or tired muscles. It also provides extended soft tissue manipulation which prolongs the benefits of Sports and Deep Tissue Massage.
On-Site Seated Massage

This, targeted 20-minute seated massage focuses on the upper part of the body, concentrating on the upper and lower back, shoulders, neck and arms and hands. The massage takes place in a specially ergonomically designed chair which allows my client to sit comfortably and completely supported. The massage takes place through clothing and no oil is used. It's a wonderful quick stress-fix.
IASTM & Cupping

IASTM is a mobilisation technique applied with special tools and instruments and is performed as a sole treatment or within a normal soft tissue massage session. It is a more targeted treatment to specifically focus on the injured tissue. Cupping is a traditional treatment where special cups are placed over an area of your skin to help resolve chronic muscle tightness and pain faster than massage therapy alone
Confidence in Ian Bloomfield Massage

I have been working with the physios and coaching staff at St Mirren Football Club providing sports and remedial massage treatments on the first team squad during their successful 2022-2023 season - and look forward to continuing the good work with the team in 23-24 season.

My qualifications in Anatomy and Physiology, Swedish and Remedial and Sports Massage came from The Western School of Massage - located at Glasgow Caledonian University - the only massage school in the UK that provides university accredited massage qualifications

I am a member of the SMTO - The Scottish Manual Therapists Organisation – established in 1992 to enhance public protection by ensuring therapists meet and maintain standards set by the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council.

I am also a member of the Sports Therapy Association UK. The STA exists to provide professional representation for sports therapists, sports injury therapists, and soft tissue therapists across the United Kingdom. The STA is a truly independent and ethical association that is committed to raising standards across the industry. This is massively important and hugely beneficial, not only for me as a practising therapist but also for my clients. I am also fully insured and hold an up-to-date First Aid in the Workplace qualification.

Clinic & Mobile
I am currently working from a treatment room at Repair and Restore - a wee massage therapy clinic on King's Street, Crieff. I am also available for occasional mobile / at home appointments within Crieff and the surrounding areas (+£5 surcharge).
Here when you need me
I appreciate just how busy day-to-day life can be - and how there's never enough hours in the day. That is why I don’t have set, rigid, clinic times. I’m fairly flexible with my schedule and will try to fit my clients in and around what works for them – which includes working early mornings, evenings and weekends.

To get booked in – give me a call or send a text / WhatsApp message to 07713 155583 and I’ll call you back (or use the contact form below to request a call-back). We’ll compare diaries and find a time and day that works for you.

Last minute cancellations do (unfortunately) happen – so if you are wanting a same-day appointment please call and, if I don't pick up, leave a message. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
