Let's get to work
It is my mission to help people maintain a happy body, mind and soul. I offer a variety of essential treatments – with the list growing every month as I develop and expand my treatment menu. All clients are sent a consultation form prior to their first visit – which is then discussed and expanded upon in clinic. Every client is treated as an individual and receives a bespoke treatment tailored to their exact needs. No two treatments are the same. Get in touch if you are unsure which massage is best for you. I'm here to help you. It is, after all, what I do.
Sports or Remedial
The treatment of sports injuries is the area most people naturally associate with Sport & Remedial massage, but nowadays it is used in the treatment of a broad range of conditions affecting people of all ages and from all walks of life. We fix pain and improve mobility. We help you look after yourselves even outside of our clinic walls.
Sport massage combines general massage techniques with deep tissue work, myofascial manipulation, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, connective tissue release and joint mobilisation work to help you regain and retain the health of the body’s soft tissue. A common misconception is that you have to take part in regular physical activity to benefit from sports massage, but this is wrong. Sports massage is suitable for everyone and can be used to treat a wide range of injuries and conditions - whether these are caused by sporting or occupational situations - the benefits are the same.
Remedial massage therapy simply means using manual therapy techniques to ‘remedy’ a soft tissue problem. But to offer a remedy you must do more than just relieve pain: you must also be able to understand how the problem came about and how it can be avoided in the future. A successful treatment will not only deal with the immediate source and symptom of discomfort, but aim to slow down and eventually banish its re-occurrence.
Sports and remedial treatments usually start with a postural examination followed by safety and range of movement tests. Our treatment protocol consists of consultation, assessment, treatment and advice and aftercare.

Pre and Post Event Massage
What are your pre-event and post-event routines? Before an event, you’re probably stretching – maybe even doing active isolated stretching. Maybe you do a quick cool down or stretch after a game. But are your muscles getting the full preparation and recovery they need?
Pre-event and post-event massage is something you should consider adding to your wellness habits. Before an event, it aids in preparing soft tissue for activity. After an event, it helps the tissue recover. Both are very powerful in hindering potential injuries and delayed soreness.
If this is something that you’d like to do, reach out to me and I’ll be happy to set up a session with you and help you on your journey to peak performance!
There are many benefits to pre and post event massage:
Pre-Event
-
Injury prevention
-
Better range of movement
-
Enhanced muscle flexibility
-
Improved blood circulation
-
Less muscle tension
-
Increase in overall performance
Post-Event
-
Reduced/prevented delayed soreness
-
Minimized build-up of tension
-
Decreased fatigue
-
Faster recovery time and return to training
-
Better relaxation
I work with athletes - professional and joe public - providing sports treatments before and after sporting events. I also work with many regular gym-goers - dealing with their muscle niggles, delayed onset muscle soreness and improving and maintaining good range of movement so they can continue with their work-out and fitness goals whilst remaining injury free.

Deep Tissue Massage
While many massage techniques induce relaxation with soothing and gentle kneading, deep tissue massage involves more intense muscle manipulation.
A Deep Tissue massage combines elements of Swedish and Sports massage - with deeper pressure used as it's so beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension, increasing range of movement, improving blood flow, breaking down deep knots and adhesions and helps with muscular aches and pains . Additionally, this type of massage reduces stress hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin.
Traditional (Swedish) massage promotes whole-body relaxation - whilst deep tissue massage is often used to target specific trouble spots or areas that need deeper, more focussed attention. Deep Tissue massage is intense, not painful.

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is the foundation of therapeutic massage and is the most common and best-known kind of massage. During the treatment, I will use classic strokes such as effleurage, friction, petrissage, and tapotement to work on particular parts or whole body to release tension and reduce muscle spasm and pain.
Swedish massage has so many benefits – it can help reduce stress and anxiety and allows the body to re-discover its inner calm. Clients often experience increased energy levels, better sleep and an improvement in muscle tone and posture. Swedish Massage is the perfect tonic to combat the difficulties of everyday life. It’s no wonder Swedish massage is so popular and is an excellent choice for a first massage.
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology Taping is a rehabilitative taping technique which has been developed to supercharge the body’s natural healing process. The Kinesiology Tape is a latex-free, adhesive tape designed to replicate the functions of the human skin in terms of its thickness and elasticity, which allows Kinesio tape to be worn without restricting movement. This means that Kinesio tape is ideal for helping the natural healing process, providing support for the fascia, muscles, and joints. The process of strategically applying K tape to the body helps heal the soft tissues. Because it is both waterproof and breathable, Kinesio tape can be worn for days at a time to help support the body.
Kinesio taping is a form of physical therapy that improves blood flow by microscopically lifting the skin, which increases the space within the layers of the subcutaneous tissue below. This allows for a more effective flow of blood and lymphatic fluid, decreasing inflammation, alleviating discomfort, and aiding the rehabilitation and healing of a joint or muscle. As well as being used to treat injuries such as shin splints and knee pain, it can also help treat other painful conditions, such as plantar fasciitis.
Our therapists have been professionally trained in the systematic application of Kinesiology Tape, which, when used in conjunction with manual therapy, has been proven to have a really positive physiological effect. I may suggest, therefore, that as part of your Sports, Remedial or Deep Tissue treatment, K tape is used (no additional charge). I can also provide a stand-alone 20 minute Kinesiology Taping treatment which includes a general and specific examination followed by the application of K tape.

On-site Massage
On-site acupressure chair massage is a treatment specifically designed for the workplace. It is a targeted 20-minute seated massage known as the Kata. The treatment focuses on the upper part of the body, concentrating on the upper and lower back, shoulders, neck and arms and hands. The massage takes place in a specially ergonomically designed chair which allows you to sit comfortably and completely supported. The treatment is carried out during your working day– hence the name ‘on-site’ and has benefits for all – whether your job involves sitting at a desk all day or being on your feet a lot or spending time lifting and carrying or driving for hours on end... This massage is for everyone.
How does chair massage work?
You find time during your working day and make an on-site appointment. You remain fully clothed and no lotions or oils are used. Treatments are relaxing and relieve tension but are also revitalising so that you return to work re-energised. Each treatment is tailored to your specific needs, wishes and pressure preference.
The main benefits of chair massage are:
-
Relaxes and reduces tension
-
Revitalises the body
-
Increases alertness and mental performance
-
Relieves tension headaches
-
Eases aches and pains
Seated massage in your workplace

I am fully trained in a range of massage techniques designed to relieve stress, alleviate muscle tension, promote overall wellbeing and help your employees to maintain a healthy balance in life. If you are in HR (or in charge of looking after your employees’ wellbeing benefits programme) why not give it a try..? It’s very time efficient and very cost effective.! In just one day I could work on 12-14 of your employees – just think of the positive difference that could make – to them – and to your business.
